About Us

Ding Dong Dogs was inspired by owner Matt McLain’s favorite hometown hot dog joint in Oak Park, IL. He grew up visiting it often, and always dreamed of bringing those same big flavors and good vibes to a neighborhood of his own.

After years of testing recipes and toppings, including months spent comparing mustards alone, Matt finally landed on the perfect lineup. Every detail was chosen with care, and while some might go unnoticed, customers will relish the results.

Our menu combines nostalgic favorites with new creative twists:

• Martha Stewart is inspired by an interview where she shared her favorite hot dog combination.

• Chicago Dog and the Mountaineer from West Virginia are regional classics. Did you know West Virginia eats more hot dogs per capita than any other state?!

• Roo Up Dog gives a nod to our UMKC neighbors with a barbecue twist.

And our Extra Specials bring unique dishes to Kansas City in a fun, affordable, and tasty way.

We proudly partner with local businesses like Scimeca’s Italian Sausage, Paradise Meat Locker, Roma Bakery, and Belfonte Ice Cream to provide the best ingredients.
